Joshua Pease - Apprentice, Drax Power Limited

Josh joined Drax as an apprentice in 2008 having successfully completed GCSE and A-level studies in Castleford and Pontefract. He is currently in the fourth and final year of the mechanical engineering apprenticeship programme.

Since joining Drax, Josh’s time has been spent between Loughborough College, the E.ON Engineering Academy training centres at Castle Donnington and Ratcliffe-on-Soar, and Drax Power Station, giving a mix of hands-on work experience and studying. Josh has already completed the Level 3 BTEC National certificate in Mechanical Engineering, passing with distinction.

At the power station, Josh has worked in a number of different teams and has gained an appreciation of a variety of roles on the operations side of the business. He gained valuable experience through his involvement with one of the power station’s major outage programmes, which includes maintenance, repair and renewal work.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys various hobbies. Rugby League is one of his main passions, and when not on the rugby field Josh can be found training in the gym. To relax, Josh pursues another key interest of his, snowboarding or riding his motorbike. Josh is always looking for the next challenge and likes to try new things.
